Is it possible to split a cable tv signal either after it leaves the pace box, or before?

I have a virgin cable tv set up. An extra box and line costs £10 per month.
Is it possible to split the signal and send it to a seperate box?
would the signal need amplification?
If this wouldnt work could I split the signal after it leaves the box?

Answer:
yes split it after it leaves the box
Yes, you can split the signal, you just need a splitter. Its a little metal box thing that has one input and two outputs. So if you had a seperate box it would work. If you used a splitter after it leaves the box, both tvs would show the same picture. You couldn't watch one channel on one tv, while someone else watched something different on the other tv. You would both have to watch the same thing
yeah, you can split it after the box, it will only work when the box and 1st tv are on. and the 2nd tv will get exactly the same the 1st is playing, i.e. if you change the channel in the 1st, the 2nd will change as well ... not very practical ...
I drive three TVs from mine.
Each one works independantly from the others on analog channels (BBC1, 2, ITV1, C4) but will only show the same cable signal that the Pace box is set to.
You`d need an amp either way .
