I bought the Samsung 4243.?

On occasion a line runs down the righthand side screen. Different colors depending on what is on the tv. Sometimes it goes all the way down sometimes it doesn't. What is the cause of this? How do I fix it? I've had it less then a year.

Answer:
If you're on cable, and it's only on the premium channels, it's the cable box. It has to do with the scrambling/descrambling process (tech term: sync suppression). Call your cable company and tell them that it is unsatisfactory and that you're going to switch to Dish or DirecTV. And see how bad they want to keep your business. Chances are, they'll give you some B.S. explanation that it's your TV. If it were your TV, it would do it on every channel and your other equipment, like your VCR, DVD, etc. Don't let them B.S. you... they're infamous for it. Or, you might just luck out and they'll bring you an improved box.
