How do you operate a universal remote?

same way as any other .
with the exception y ou have to program it with the book it came with - if you no longer have the book find out what kind of tv you have go to walmart look on the back packages of the remotes and check for what code you need to enter, after that its all gravy
one thing i learned about mine i have to hit vcr for my tv to come on - i dont know why but it works like that -
there should be instructions with it...they are actually very easy to operate.you just have to know the code to your model of tv/vcr/dvd player
I am a techno moron, but it will be enlightening to me if someone provides an answer to your question that helps me understand how to work mine.
