Does anyone know if you use more electricity using 4.3 than you would using 16.9 on the TV settings?

Or is it irrelevant and both use the same. I would have thought that when the screen is smaller you would use less.

Answer:
My thought would be that you wouldn't see any significant difference. The black bars at the edges of the screen are not "off". They consume the same amount of power as any other part of the screen displaying a single colour. Turn the TV off and see the difference between the black bars when the TV is on and the whole screen when it is off.
thks 4 e info..
jeez i bet your christmas presents are real cheap lol
i would of thought both the same to be honest. its still powering the tv. ask the shop where you brought the tv.
no, if anything 4.3 may use more as it covers the whole TV scene as with some 16.9 transmissions you get wide scene setting leaving you with a black band at the top and bottom of the TV scene
If it's an LCD TV, I don't think it makes any difference as there's a blub that lights the display.
i am pretty sure that they are both the same...
