Tv power fiasco?

I have a tv and for something like a week it was getting stuck contained by standby and i had to maintain pressing the buttons to get it to come on and after roughly 40 mins it would come on then on sunday i turned it on and again it be stuck in standby but it would not come on so i turned it stale and when i turned it back on it would not come on here is no power at all in a minute i have changed the fuse but nought so has anyone get any ideas? Probably, whats the exact of that? what part of the board do you cogitate will need to replace?


Answers:    Unfortunately it's out of the question to diagnose a fault to component horizontal on the basis of a simple description of the symptoms close to that.

It could be one of a wide group of faults. A "leaking" capacitior, out of order switching transitor, faulty SMPS controller etc

It will necessitate properly looking at by an engineer.
From the intermittent temperament of your fault and I be asked to make a guess base on 40 + years experience plus intuition I would first replace the starter electro capacitor in the SMPS ! it is usually around 10mfd 200v i.e. now instigate circuit . Of coarse this assumes that the easier stuff has be ruled out !

The power regulator IC is temperature sensitive and have FULLY FAILED....

You can take it to a TV repair shop and take it repaired for about $100....

Now you know why population get it repaired, and later say they "of late bought a new one, and you can hang on to the OLD one"....(see your other question)
