Lcd tv picture probem, images have blue shades?
I have recently got a lcd tv and after a few weeks the picture started to have blue shades in it.
We have tried a tv repair shop and they said it was fine there, we also tried it upstairs in the bedroom and was fine.
It only seems to be in the front room.
We have removed all outher electrical items to see if it was getting any interferance from them but no change.
We have got a new scart and booster box also.
Oh and used the upstairs arieal cable down stairs but still wont work.
Any help would be great as we are lossing the plot with this know.
Many thanks in advance.
Answer:
In most TVs, picture calibration is done independently per source (composite, cable, SCART, etc.)
So, it may look great with composite input and bluish with antenna.
Here are some ideas:
Try to change the TV picture from Vivid and Cool to something like standard/standard or standard/Warm
Cool/Cold gives you a bluish white
Warm gives you a redish white
Check also the other picture settings
Would need a little more info...have you tried the same source in all rooms? I don't mean the same channel, you need to test it with a fixed source like a certain DVD and player that you know works fine. I have seen a faulty connector (rather than a faulty screen) cause picture problems in the past (which may be why the repair company missed it). If it's not that it seems VERY strange...an odd affect of the lighting in that room?
LCD screens aren't affected by magnetic fields as CRTs are, so it won't be any other electrical equipment causing it.
The obvious thing is that someone has been playing with the "hue" controls, but if it's OK in another room then it can't be that. And you've eliminated signal problems already.
Is it ambient lighting in the room?
Are you hanging the screen high on a wall? If so try a lower viewing angle.
