Can playing video games damage a large screen HDTV?
Answer:
Video games will damage it only if your big screen is the old CRT projection style. The newer DLP projections have no such issues. And it's not "indentations" it's actually called phosphor burn. If your Samsung is the DLP type, then you have no worries. Play your PS2 to your heart's content. If it's an older CRT style, then reduce the contrast and brightness and make sure that bright stationary images don't linger for more than a half hour.
Yes, but not for a long period of time.
The life bars and such can leave a color indention in the screen.
You call it a HDTV. but it is either LCD, plasma or projection. ;-) In any case, there is just as much harm from playing a video game than from watching a DVD or a TV show. If you have a Wii, there's a bit of a risk concerning the controller that can be flying around, but with a PS2 or alike I don't see any problem. Only thing to pay attention to is when you pause a game, not leave it on pause for hours (but that goes for DVD's and TiVo too)
i have a 61 inch RCA DLP HDTV and i play my ps2 on it everyday.
HDTV's are designed to play DVD's, video games, and are made for watching HDTV broadcasts.
in no way will it damage or harm your HDTV.
