TV wont show an image and no sound?
Answer:
Picture tube/everything is dead, my friend. Go out and get a new HDTV.
Check your cable box. If the light is solid and showing the right time, check the cable connection: perhaps it came loose. Check your power source, too: if its plugged into a power strip try unplugging it from there and plugging it straight into the wall. It may be a fuse issue. If nothing works, and you've called your cable company to make sure there's no outage, try Toshiba's tech support. Some of their HD Plasmas had a bug where it would click on, you'd see the power light for a moment, then the screen would be black, and the light would go out, clicking off. Basically the TVs were dying prematurely, and it was an internal issue with the model number, and I think they eventually worked out the bugs and reissued a new version.
Sounds like a bad power supply.
your power supply has a defective capacitor or microchip
Fault could be anywhere on this, needs diagnosis by qualified Tv tech !
Still thank Heinz for his very studied reply , he must have given that a great deal of thought ! .
Cheers Pete
