How do I bring back HD channel?

We just get a new HD TV, now I want to know how we budge about getting HD channel.

I've seen HD antennae at the stores, if I find one of these, will I be able to pick up HD channel without cable? I am not looking for cable stations, close to Disney or ESPN or anything like that. Just central channels but within HD. Are these regular channels free?

Answers:    As long as you own a built-in HD tuner (ATSC), then you can find network stations surrounded by HD with antenna. Go to your local electronic store and buy an HD antenna.

Not adjectives HDTVs come with an ATSC tuner.

Yes, the channel are free. You will get stations approaching NBC, CBS, ABC, CW, FOX.
I'm in indistinguishable situation, i have be told the new HD channel are standard broadcast & should display correctly on a HD Ready TV but all i achieve is sound (sometimes) & a screensaver sort of picture . All the standard digital channel are fine though.

Bought a "HD aerial" , internal not roof mount, & it made no difference

What brand TV did u get? Im trying to punch-up with a Tevion 482ED7471
If you already hold an outdoor antenna then explicitly all you necessitate. Any UHF indoor antenna will donwell but not for long range.

With an antenna you will win OTA(over the air) broadcasts for free. This is: ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox all surrounded by HD.
there are no "HD" channel...even though companies are marketing antennae as such. there isn't satisfactory bandwidth to transmit in HD. however, to answer your quiz, you can get lots of free, crystal clear programming over-the-air near any regular antenna. right now, 2 types of signals are self broadcast--analog and digital--and after Feb 2009, only digital signals will be available. most latest tv's are capable of reception the digital channels and the choice of antenna make no difference. CBS, ABC, FOX, NBC and others are free channels that you can pick up next to regular aerial antenna...if you are far (over 50 miles) from the transmitter, you may involve to invest in an amplified antenna.
