Remote control for TV will not work?

Make sure the batteries are in correctly. Switch them around a few times. You may need to reprogram it. If you buy one of those universal remotes they need to be reprogramed occasionally. It should be on the paper that came with it. You might be able to look online to fine the code.

all i can think of is bang it against a Table with out breaking and check to see if the batteries aren't already dead ones you acciedendly put in, ive done that before
Prior to going out or sending away for a new one, open the defective remote up, remove the board under the key board and clean the key contacts on the board with rubbing alcohol and a Q-tip. Be sure the board is dry before re-assembling it. Do not use an eraser from a pencil. The contacts have a coating on them that you don't want to remove. The coating acts like pull up resistors for each contact to the battery voltage. Removing this coating will make that contact useless, non-functional.
