There was a thing on the news about a day when TV won't work...?

Does anyone know any info.. I missed the story but it sounded pretty cool. No tv for anyone sounds awesome. Finally everyone will get off their couches if they can unless theyre already embedded in it.

Answer:
That's utter nonsense. What you probably heard was that the older style analog TV broadcasts were going bye-bye soon. That just means that digital is taking over. Think about it for a minute, why would all the TV and satellite broadcasters be continuing to dump so much money in to it? Like I said... utter nonsense.
it would be great if tv decided to die but alas, that is not the case.

in 2008 all channels will be broadcast in HD and there will be no more regular tv. so unless you have an HDTV you won't be ab;e to watch tv after the switch.

it's for the best. regular tv can damage your eyesight. HDTV has better definition than real life and probably will make people's eyesight better 'cause they'll train there eyes to focus on crisper images for long periods of time.
