Is Samsung a good LCD TV company ?
Answer:
Sorry to rain on the ney sayers parade but, Sony and Samsung Mass Produce thier LCD's Together, the only differences would be there Color Engine (DNiE for Samsung), User Interface, Number of Inputs and Contrast Ratio which Usually the Samsung has more of, 4,000:1 to 3,000:1 not a noticeable difference, Now as form the best manufactuer of LARGE LCD SCREENS Shar takes the cake you can't get better then their 10,000:1 Contrast Ratio and 4ms Response Time, the Higher-End Version has a 15,000:1 Contrast Ratio (Better Blacks/More Realistic) and with the Response Time almost no pixelation with fast movement the Sony and Samsung are both 6ms
sure is one of the best
Samsung no, Sharp no.
Sony
Toshiba
Mitsubishi
Hitachi
Are the ones that are built to last. A sharp will prolly last longer than a Samscum.
I'm a third generation TV salesman, and my family's store used to carry Samsung. They were the most problematic sets we ever carried. We dropped them after about a year. Sharp makes a better set which will most likely last much longer, but I would go with Sony, Pioneer or Toshiba for the best quality. We've been carrying Sony LCDs since they debuted, and we've had very few customer complaints.
I have a Samsung LCD and am very pleased. While you have received a couple of negative comments, I would check the ratings sites to get a better idea of what more people or other experts think. Consumer Reports rated my TV (LNS 4092, 40") highly. Comments at Cnet.com are also very positive but as with any manufacturer, it depends on the model. Pick a few models you are considering and check out the sites I mentioned and others to get a better sense of their reputation.
