My TV has a white line across the front of it how much does it generally cost to get it repaired?

Answer:
Sounds like the vertical output ic is gone or a bad connection around there. expect to pay $50-$100 depending on where you go. Ask for an estimate.

Yes gilloz a capacitor is very common to go in the vertical circuit but usually it will not bring it down to a straight line. A bad cap normally causes height ( top or bottom) problems.

P.S. Thanks Pete!!
for what your going to pay for repairs you can buy a new one. obviously that depends on what kind of tv u have
Cant say better than MikeB ! exactly what I would have said . !
Cheers Pete
In the number of TV's that I have repaired in the past, electrolytic capacitors in the vertical deflection circuit have been more of a problem then the Vertical Amp IC. There have been some, but not many. Either way, it will cost to repair depending on how honest the repair shop is. Good luck.
