I recently bought a samsung dlp 42" tv. Have it hooked up with hdmi and my cable provider is comcast. Have a hd box from comcast and my problem is some hd channels come in perfect. Discovery for example. But some sports programs such as Basketball are grainy and not so great. This makes me believe it is not the tv. I live in an apartment and think that the connection is not great and had some comcast guy check out the signal and he said it is fine. So I wonder why high tempo sports programs appear grainy and not so clear why slow programs and shows are great. Sports center will come in crystal clear, then a basketball game will show on the same channel and it will appear grainy? I am a rookie when it comes to TVS and componets and this one stumps me. We have tried calibrating with a dvd and have had no luck. My only thought is signal interferance or something of that nature. Is it possible that the comcast signal is shared among the apartment and we do not receive the best signal?

depending on where u live and the apartment complex...
it could be a few things.. the hd box is bad.there is a signal issue with the complex..
how does the picture look with the component/ coaxial/ video
how about straight cable no box? if the pic is grainy still then you have a signal problem related to your apartment...
asking for an inhouse tech is away to help in not getting a contractor...in house techs tend to spend more time with the sub to help fix the problem.comcast inhouse tech is paid by the house..where contractors get paid by the job
