Wut is a apposite hdtv to buy?

i want a 42" lcd 1080p hdtv for and around 1000 too 1500 dollars. also will 1080p play my xbox 360 wii and ps3 at the maximum quailty. like wii games are 480p and ps3 are 1080p. so will the tv work beside the wii also? thank u for ur time u dedicated to my request for information and u will be rewarded with points if u choice within answer my question properly. one again thanx and plz explain the above.


Answers:    Get the December issue of Consumer Reports-your library will enjoy it. They review the latest sets. Stay away from the bottom tier sets. their reliability is unknown, and their warranty/ service is between poor and none. At 42", you don't want 1080P unless you're going to sit very close to the eyeshade. Go to the stores and look at the TVs from the distance you expect to sit. If you can't see the pixels on a 720P set from that distance, don't get 1080P. If the set indicates it will play 1080P, 1080i, 720P, 480P and 480i, it will play anything you throw at it, except for some computer resolutions. If you may hook-up to a computer someday, put together sure the set has a PC input (VGA) and at lowest possible one HDMI input that will play with a PC.
