When will programming be aired at 1080P?

Does it make sense to take an 1080P HDTV since nothing is broadcast near that resolution? Will the shows be converting to 1080P anytime soon? I do not plan to buy a blue ray or play any video games.


Answers:    There are no plans to broadcast within 1080P in the foreseeable adjectives. The only 1080P sources will be up-converting DVDs, HD DVDs and games. However, if you are chitchat about a big set, utter 50" or more, then you should consider 1080P. Depending on your viewing distance, you may involve the higher resolution. The set will upscale your signals to 1080P for viewing.
By Jan 2008 mostly adjectives you will see is 1080P TVs, It is the new standard that everything going forward will be built on. So right very soon buying anything less is deeply putting you back surrounded by the stone age. Prices for the 1080p are only a few hundred more at this point. Prices on blue beam and HDDVD are coming down fast. In Dec you may see a 1080p HDDVD player for below $300 which is well worth the price. When you buy electronics you should other think a few years down the road. After adjectives we all want our TVs to end a few years at least.
