I cant hook up my stereo to my tv for surround sound.?

my tv dosent have a red and white input i have a rf modulator.

Answer:
First, I am hoping you are using the term "stereo" very loosely. By definition, stereo is only two speakers. Surround sound is at minimum 5 speakers.

Also, you cannot get surround sound from red/white RCA ports. You need a digital coax or optical ports to transmit surround sound.

To get audio from a TV with RF to an audio system, you can use like a VCR that will break the RF signal down to separate audio and video signals. Radio Shack would have devices that will break up the RF signal as well.

Or you can stop being cheap and get digital cable. Then, the set top box will have the audio outputs that you need for surround sound.
