Receiving HD Channels?
My tv kicked the bucket after 6 years of use and I decided I would transport the plunge into high def. I did this for two reason. My old tv be only 19'' and I looked-for a quality TV to play my 360 on.
So finishing month I bought myself a 37'' Sanyo HDTV. Here were my impressions:
SD channel look horribly fuzzy and patchy. I don't know whether to blame this on low quality picture self stretched to 37'' or if the TV quality is freshly poor.
The reason I blame the cable ability is because when I hook up my 360 (with its HDMI cables) the picture is simply stunning. The picture is clear, no fuzziness or lines or picture tearing.
So my quiz is.. what are my options for unloading high def channel? I primarily watch Discovery, History, National Geographic, adjectives of those shows that constantly say [This show also broadcasts surrounded by HD].
Can you get a addressee to attach to the tv or do I have to instruct through my local cable provider?
Answers: Hey, sorry I can't answer your question right presently.... but, my husband and I had the exact same problem a month ago when we bought a 42 inch HD TV. We thought it be the TV... we exchanged two TVs until we realized it be our Directv hook up. The installer did something wrong... Me being a woman... I can't enlighten you exactly what the problem was... I'm putting this give somebody the third degree on my watch index until I can get a hold of my husband... :) Sure is bravery wrecking isn't it!
I see you have your answer.... HD box! :)
Regular analog channel will not look good on a TV made for HD; it's not the result of the TV, it's the result of the culvert.
If you want HD channels, you own three options: local cable (if offered), DirecTV, or Dish Network. The latter two enjoy packages of about 40 HD channel (History, Discovery, ESPN, HBO, etc.) and may offer your local channel in HD, if available. Local cable, depending on your provider, may own HD channels available, including your local channel if available. You should definitely price shop because you may know how to get other.
First, go to BestBuy or something and win an HD box. There are different HD boxes for different companies depending on if they offer satellite programming or regular digital cable.
Second, connect the HD box near your TV.
Third, call your cable or satellite company and directive the HD channels you want.
Also, if you want to examine DVDs in HD, grasp a HD or Blu-Ray DVD player.
Your 360 works fine because it is an HD source and you are using a HDMI cable.
Hope this helps!
For SD there's nought you can do. These signals simply were not made for display within big screens.
For those channel you mention 'also broadcast in HD'. This doesn't stingy that if your TV is hd then you'll see them contained by HD.
No, you're still receiveng them in SD. They 'are available surrounded by HD' but you have to pay packet for them... you must contact your cable provider and ask them for the 'Digital content'. You'll be charged a plus.
Simply put, to watch HD you involve two things: a HD TV set AND a HD cable signal. You got the TV, in a minute you need to return with the HD Cable from your provider.
