Answers:    First, you must watch it on channel that have a run 1 or dot one to it....

Example :
Channel 46 is analog
46.1 and 46-1 are HD Digital channels,
46.2, 46.3 and 46.4 are Digital, but merely 480i or 480P signals.
You are using an antenna to get your tv signal,,, correct? Were you tuning to the analog standard def channal or to the digital gully? For example, analog ABC here is 27 or 27.0.
Digital HD ABC is 27.1

Try putting a "." or a "-" into your channel on your remote and afterwards a "1" For example:

15.1 or 15-1
27.1 or 27-1

It sounds like you are still tuning to the analog stations. If that's not the issue, I hold no idea.

It's also possble that your local station be having problems next to its digital HD signal so is was basically displaying the standard def version instead.
Contact your cable/satellite company to swap out your existing cable/satellite box to an HD cable/satellite box. Make sure your cables/connections/switches/jacks are adjectives for HD TVs.
