Which TV to buy Samsung, Onida or Philips?
Answer:
Among all the brands in India, SONY provides the best after sales service.
You could get a 29" for 20000.
All I can say is that I bought a TV, video and DVD player in a package from Phillips about 3 years ago. The TV broke down about a year ago and I paid £150 to have it repaired, the DVD broke before that and because the cost of them has come down I replaced it with a £30 supermarket model which has been really good, the video recorder is still ok but none of the remotes work anymore despite changing the batteries - I have to use the SKY remote or change things manually. So I'm annoyed I didn't pay more and get a better quality set. My Sony TV is still working after about15 years.
CRT or LCD?
I am not familiar with Onida.
Samsung has a Slimfit CRT range which is great value for money. If you are planning to get CRT, then get Slimfit.
Samsung LCDs are good from the low end to the high end ranges.
Philips LCDs are OK for the low end range (they make 15 inch onwards while Samsung starts at 26 inch). But their high end range is AT LEAST equal to that of Samsung.
I am not sure how much Philips spends on R&D on LCD but I can tell you Philips is easily one of the top 10 most innovative companies in the world for the past 100 years. They just do not advertise that as much.
Some of the inventions includes the CD and the cross-head screwdriver (also known as the Philips screwdriver).
Samsung is best reliable brand among the three you mentioned. However I am unable to understand why did you stick to only these three brands, when other brands are also available in the market with better technology.
Every TV Company has their own technology supremacy. As my experience tells, it is Philips compared to other TV sets which has supremacy in sound, goodlooks, longevity and quality pictures.
Sony is th best tv in any country you go in, but Samsung makes a better tv because they have sharper pixels, better sound quality. It is better in overrall performance. I would go with a Samsung tv for your type of use.
People unless you actually know for SURE! Then post the answer.
Samsung and Phillips are the same.
Samsung has their junk electronics in Phillips.
Samsung and Phillips/Magnavox along with all walmart tv brands including Insignia,APEX, are just pure junk.
Poor to no support on their products, aweful HD picture, and once out of warranty the company dosnt care. And if you try to get it repaired expect a high repair bill to no parts support.
Had customer have a 42" Phillips plasma in for repair, 3 days out of warranty.
Opened that up, saw nothing but samsung junk. Wasnt surprized. Checked for parts, and non are available.
They are going to buy a Sony next time and you wont have this trouble.
Stick with reliable electronics, like Sony,Toshiba,Mitsibishi,Pionee...
I would recommend Phillips
samsung is the best
