1080i or 1080p which one is better?
Answers: You actually asked a trick query: There is no native "1080i" on an LCD or Plasma Panel, these are call Digital displays and do not show a real time logo in 1080i (except for some irregular sony and hitachi plasmas made a few years ago). Both Plasma and LCD are"progressive displays" that can take any signal, but will eventually convert the resolutions to progressive scan to meeting the native panel resolution. In a sense yes, 1080p on an LCD/ plasma display would result surrounded by the best results, but I have instinctively seen and showed customers a top-end 720p display and have every customer mention it looked better than the 1080p set......so it's subjective.
So to answer your question, build sure the TV you buy converts a 1080i signal well, because except then you can hold yourself rear legs on the potential picture.
1080p is better on both plasma and LCD. 1080p is full HD.
