Why is my digibox not working?

because most of them don't! My mum is on her 7th digi box in the last year!! Plus mine cuts out sound every now and again. They're all a bit rubbish if you ask me, why do you think they're so cheap! Take it back if you've not had it for more than a year :)
you need to goto the menu and do a ''new installation''
and check your connections
There is far more interference throughout the day which which weakens the signal, you could buy a booster or remove the areal and place it in a better position.
Is the digibox from a cable provider or one you bought? If it is from Comcast or Time warner call them and ask them to send a real tech out. It sounds to me like there might be an old splitter somewhere thats not letting the box talk back to the head end and causing it to shut down. When they cant do what they are supposed to they shut down or go into "brick" mode it looks like ---- on the screen on the box.
Another thing it might be is a bad ground in your house, I have found that a few times that it only did it when there was hardly anything else drawing power from the house (daytime) no lights on, no washing machine etc.
If all else fails tell the cable company to rewire your house.
