Hello, I have a 9P5540C1 produced surrounded by 1999 Philips Magnavox projection television. For times gone by month the picture has degraded. It started out next to the image individual compressed, edges of the image be concave, and after about 2 or 3 minutes the symbol would return to full screen. Recently it have started out totally black, then a deeply compressed all white photo that bounces in and out, to a fully distinct image but sides are still concave after more or less an hour or so. (During this warm up length the sound is out of hand. Even on mute noise will yap on the speakers). This happens near the Satelite box and with the VCR, so I do not guess its the input device.
I would appreciate any information on possible repair, or if I should just replace it. I am guessing if the cost is $500 or more, I should replace it. Thank you for your time, John
Answers: OPTOISOLATORS !! I estimate there are 3 of them surrounded by the power supply that should be replaced....
Not too hard to fix for $340 to $360......
