Answers: I think anyone who points you to Samsung over a Sony Bravia have a few screws loose. It's a great entry level TV (and it does not enjoy a flexible base).

The KDL-46S4100 be designed and built by Sony to compete with low end discount TVs that where on earth eating Sony's lunch. Everything about this TV scream cheap from the flexible base that allows the TV to sway back-and-forth to the fuzzy, very low contrast picture competence. Anyone who suggests that this TV is a great TV has never seen this TV nor can they grant that Sony can produce a dog. Look at the Samsung A530, Sharp D65U or Toshiba for quality alternatives. Even the Vizio has a better picture power than this dog from Sony. Its not that Sony can't build a good TV (and they do build some very honourable TVs), it's just the KDL-46S4100 or any sized S4100 model is not that TV. Blind infatuation for all products produced by a single company is a short time ago a horrible spectacle to witness in public and this from the same man that states that Philips builds a top element TV. Now there's an endorsement source that everyone should trust!
Additional Details: 3.5 to 4 out of 5 stars describes a GREAT TV?!
You do not have to believe anything that you read here, freshly go to a showroom with this TV on its stand and exam the flexible base for your self. I have NEVER see another TV flex like the Sony S4100. I know because I actually work next to these TVs. I set up the 40S4100 & 46S4100 in our shop. The stand on the S4100 is the cheapest stand that I have ever attached to a LCD HDTV. I guess infatuation does not allow you to imagine as they really are. Can you say denial?

PersonAlly I would stay away from Sony look at Samsung or Panasonic and for LCD's cheak out the Sharp Aquos.
