Why still see stretched imagery within HDTV? why buy 16:9 HDTV? various relatives use a short time ago the middle screened-off area!?

When consumers don't have to just use the middle sector of HDTV? I see people frustrated about this.

Answers:    You can set up your TV to use simply the middle part of the screen if the picture is 4:3, or you can hold the TV stretch the picture to 16:9. If you don't like stretched pictures, set your TV to "normal" for 4:3 pictures.
Ok, this is complicated. Theres a few things to know. First, what you see depends on what your watching. With an HDTV to a PS3 or Xbox for example, you get a full blind image, nice and crisp. The PS3 or Xbox is putting out a full 1080 HD image. Which is a 16:9 imitation.

On a cable box, it depends on what your watching. Even if your using an HD box with the right cables to your TV, some programs are not full eyeshade because they werent filmed that way. Tv shows usually arent widescreen, so you gain the black bars or you can stretch it. HBO HD for example, shows movies and it fills up the HD 16:9 peak all the way, thats because movies are film in 16:9.
